Graz Again

Hello together, hallo zusammen,

you might already know that I am a huge Graz lover (and Katja liked it very much too)! Two weeks ago, David and I finally found the time to go there again to visit his dad and his wonderful grandma. It was really, really lovely, also because we were really lucky with the weather and spent almost all the time outside. We also detected some really nice stores and places, which I'm sharing with you below. :)

The ultimate Graz classic is, and stays, the Schlossberg with its famous clock tower. We went there two times (great in spring!!) and even walked around the whole hill for the first time. Pretty lovely walk, I have to say! :)

On our second day in Graz I dragged the boys to a little shopping tour and found some pretty cool stores I didn't know before. One shop I definitely want to recommend is Zerum, where they sell sustainably produced clothes and accessories. My favourites were the wooden sun glasses and they also offer a nice variety of soulbottles.
Right next to Zerum is tagwerk, where you can get pretty cool upcycled clothes and bags, and when you're already in that area you might also check out offline retail (vintage store) and Ghusaz (gift store). If you're a gardener you mustn't miss out a visit of Samen Köller, a traditional seed store where you can get all different kinds of plant seeds. Also if you're not a gardener a visit of the store is highly recommended as they've also got a variety of cookbooks, postcards and other garden related things.
Oh, and I detected the cutest bookstore in Prokopigasse! It's called Bücherstube and it's adorable (I got the coolest collection of postcards there, showing posters of early 20th century magic shows)!

Jahrhundert abgestaubt)!

As far as food is concerned, you already know that David and I usually enjoy the home-cooked delicacies from David's grandma, his dad and Betty, David's dad's wife. If the three of them would open a restaurant together, it would definitely be my first recommendation (on the picture below you can see not only an awesome broccoli-curry with tempeh and brown rice but also fried dumplings filled with wild garlic and potatoes. Yummy!)! Concerning restaurants in Graz I'm therefore not an expert, but I've still got two tipps for you. First, we went to Le Schnurrbart, a lovely small café, where you can also choose from a nice variety of sweet and sour crépes. Second, I would definitely recommend a visit of the farmers' market on Kaiser-Josef-Platz near the opera. There you can not only buy regional specialties such as pumpkin seed oil, but also get a coffee at one of the lovely small cafés around. Below you can see a picture of Rossian for example, where you can get buttered bread with cress for breakfast... ;)

I wish you all a beautiful start in the new week!
