sorry for being off the (blog)world for the last two weeks! I simply needed a break from my laptop after the last crazy weeks, but now my reserves are fuelled again and I'm ready to go. :) As I missed the Green Sunday last week I'm going to make up for it now by proposing some means to reduce one's plastic consumption. "Why reduce plastic at all?", you might ask now. "Isn't it handy, light and usable for multiple things?". All true, but plastic is also made from fossil oil, which is a limited ressource as we all know. In addition, the recycling of plastic is quite problematic! Far more often than it should be, plastic finds its way into nature where it not only pollutes the environment and poses a threat to various animals who might eat it but it also becomes part of the food chain, which ultimately affects us humans too. And if that's not convincing enough: There are whole plastic continents floating around in the ocean! I think that's reason enough to act... ;)
entschuldigt bitte meine Abwesenheit in den letzten zwei Wochen! Nach den letzten paar verrückten Wochen brauchte ich einfach eine Pause von meinem Laptop, aber jetzt sind die Reserven frisch gefüllt und es kann munter weitergehen. :) Weil ich den Green Sunday letze Woche ja irgendwie ausgelassen habe, werde ich ihn heute nachholen und zwar mit ein paar guten Tipps, wie man den Plastikmüllberg in seinem Haushalt reduzieren kann. "Warum überhaupt reduzieren?", werden sich jetzt manche von euch vielleicht fragen. "Ist Plastik nicht superpraktisch, leicht und vielfältig einsetzbar?" Stimmt alles, aber für die Produktion ist man dennoch auf Erdöl angewiesen, das ja erwiesenermaßen immer weniger wird. Außerdem ist auch das Recycling von Plastik mehr als problematisch. Sehr viel öfter als gut wäre gelangt das Plastik in die Natur, wo es nicht nur die Umwelt verschmutzt, sondern auch Tiere bedroht, die das Plastik mit Nahrung verwechseln. Außerdem gelangt es somit in die Nahrungskette, die uns Menschen ja auch betrifft. Und wer jetzt noch immer nicht überzeugt ist: Riesige Plastikteppiche von der Größe eines Kontinents treiben im Meer umher! Also ich finde das allein ist schon ein Grund, aktiv zu werden... ;)
